Loadout PS4

So big news today, a huge PC game Loadout, has been announced as a console exclusive for the Playstation 4. Why is this big news? Because, this game is wickedly fun and competitive. Think, Team Fortress 2, with 10x more gore and weapon customization.

In fact, the big draw to the game is the "Billions of combinations" you can make for your weapon. I have played it on the PC, and I have spent a good 2 hours on just creating my weapons. Creating laser beams, rocket launchers, and assault rifles...the choice is yours.

Also, according to the developers, it is not going to be a straight port either. They are going to rework the balance of the game to make it feel at home on the Dualshock 4. This is great news, shows that they are going to put some time and effort into bringing their game to the Playstation 4.

Anways, I am quite excited for this pre-E3 announcement. My personal views on it are that I can't wait for it to come out so I can wreck some people with the Hammer, which is their form of capture the flag. I am skeptical on playing the game with the controller because I tried on the PC and I felt severely hindered. But, if they re-balance the game that will be perfect.

The trailer is just below.

Bound By Flame: Initial Impressions

Now, I am going to be honest with you, I was a little skeptical going to get Bound By Flame. A lot of the critics have been tearing the game apart. But, I have been looking forward to an action/adventure/rpg type of game for a while for the PS4. That is why I went ahead and purchased the game.

At $49, I was not expecting a AAA title, but I am looking for an entertaining title. And in my first hours with the game that is exactly what I have gotten. To be frank, the game is actually quite hard. I have died countless times, I don't know if it is because the game is inherently hard or because I am not used to the combat system.

Speaking of the combat system, I have not gotten used to it completely. I am still looking for a way to dodge while using the a sword... But alas, there is none and   you are forced to block or parry. For this reason, I have been using the daggers a lot more than the sword. To explain, you have 2 stances; warrior and ranger. With the warrior stance you use a sword and to mitigate the damage you block or you can time it perfectly and parry an attack and counter it. While in ranger stance  you use your dual daggers and to mitigate the damage you dodge backwards; timing it perfectly will let you riposte and counter the attack. You also have a ranged weapon (my crossbow for now) as well as magic spells. The magic spell  you gain from the demon inside of you.

That is the, let's say, the selling point of the game. You are a mercenary, Vulcan, who in certain circumstances has been 'possessed' by a flame demon. Throughout the game, you are given choices in which you can embrace the demon or not. When you embrace the demon, Ala Fable, your character transforms; to a point where he actually can't wear helmets anymore because of the horns. This concept is what really intrigued me about Bound By Flame. Not to spoil anything, I spent a good 5 minutes thinking what to do when the  first decision decided to present itself to me.

Now, I know gamers think this is all important (which it's not), but the graphics are pretty good. No where near groundbreaking, but they are good. I do notice a slowdown time to time, mostly right before I go into a new area but it is not enough to hinder the entertainment value. It definitely is a pretty game to look at, I will not take that away.

I was not looking for an open-world game, in fact, I kind of hate how everyone expects that now of late. So, I don't mind, but rather like, the linearality of the game, with its defined paths, corridors, and areas. Of course there are side quests to accomplish to give you a break from the story. I can easily see myself sinking 20+ hours into the title, and for that at $49 that is a steal.

Having sunk, only a couple hours into Bound By Flame, I am excited to continue the story of Vulcan and the flame demon. There is much that I haven't really spent time with such as the crafting system and building relationships. But, as of right now, I definitely recommend this game, just don't expect a perfect AAA experience.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

So it seems like the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare trailer was leaked a little early than the May 4th Reveal. With that, Activision acknowledged that and have 'officially' released the Reveal trailer.

Now, as you see through the trailer it is going to be a futuristic shooter. So that is going to be a little interesting, especially with the introduction of the exoskeletons and the super jumps. How will this transition into the online? I am very anxious to find out.

See, I am one of the few that actually likes Ghosts. I don't see why everyone hates on that game, it works and it is really fun online. I like all the customizations and how deep I can get into the multi-player settings.

Since this is going to be Sledgehammers first Call of Duty game I have high hopes that they are going to revolutionize the multiplayer scene since they, hopefully, are not going to follow any recipes.

So here is to another good Call of Duty!

My Excitement is Growing: Bound By Flame

I am getting extremely excited for the upcoming game, Bound By Flame. This game looks absolutely gorgeous and fantastic. It promises a fun and challenging combat that requires some tactical thought. The game kind of reminds me of a mix between, Fable and Dark Souls. I hope it delivers on this expectation.

I think this type of title is exactly what the next gen Playstation 4 console needs. It is unfortunate that the Xbox 1 will not be receiving this title though. The game is coming to the PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and the PC.  But I will be picking this up for the PS4 definitely.

The game is released on May 9, so that is just about 2 weeks from now! Well I just wanted to alert you guys on this amazing upcoming game. Go check out the title and tell what you think about it in the comments below.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition - The Bow

I'm going to be honest, I have been playing the multiplayer component of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition more than the single player. Great times are to be had while playing the exhilarating multiplayer! There is a sense of satisfaction when you capture an enemy with a trap to get the final kill. But, there is better feeling, getting a kill with the Bow.

I didn't always use the bow online, and when I, didn't I was not having a lot of fun. But, I plunged into the bow face first and have not turned back. Pulling the bow string and leading an enemy... To release it just as he is about to kill a teammate. Something about that is amazing!

While using the assault rifles I had poor accuracy and to me, it was a gamble on who would win in a fire fight. Whilst, using the bow I know most of the time that I am going to hit the person or not. Sometimes, unfortunately I'll hit them, they'll kill me and then they'll drop dead from the arrow. Now that is definitely frustrating and it has happened way more than once.

Anyways, here is a Bow montage video that I quickly spun together to showcase some of the first games that I played with the bow.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition - Multiplayer 1

I am really enjoying the Multiplayer in Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. This round was before I actually discovered the beauty of the Bow. I have been playing non-stop for a while now and I really love the Bow. Definitely my play style, I use the bow as more of a support tool staying back and helping my teammates. Though, I have a montage of my bow coming up, I do sometimes go in and fight them head on with the bow. Anyways heres a first look at the Multiplayer in Tomb Raider
