The Grind is Real

So I right now I am level 22 in Destiny. Its a pretty good level, Heroic Strikes are a little easier and I get opportunities  to get some rare, legendary, and exotic engrams. So, how am I level 22, when the cap is 20? Well first off when  you hit level 20, you can start gathering armor that has an attribute called Light. This attribute can actually raise your level. So, with that, the better gear you have the higher level you will be.

So instead of restricting raids and stuff on "Gear level", they can restrict you based on your level. Case in point, the raid Vault of Mirrors is locked until you reach level 26! So, I am currently grinding for some better gear. The Cryptarch is not helping either, I got a Legendary yesterday!....for a different class. Which is mildly frustrating to say the least.

I found a couple good spots to farm some engrams but none have really been giving my anything of any use. With that, I have been playing in the Crucible and I have been getting way better gear than decrypting engrams. So that is  what I have been doing lately.

So far, Week 1 has been a success and I am having a total blast with this game!

Destiny - Week 1

Bungie Wallpaper

Here I started off of late, on Monday, though I wish my Girlfriend Kim could have witnessed it all. Now, I am standing on Level 18 just two days in, with the game complete. But, the interesting thing that I have found out is that the game doesn't start until you complete the short and incomplete story. For one, don't take short and incomplete as me hating on it, I liked it. But also, it is short and incomplete for a reason, it is an MMO and the story is being developed over a period of time.

To be honest, I am really enjoying the game and can't wait to show it off to Kim. Right now I am playing a Warlock and working my way to Level 20 to really unlock the whole game. I feel like the beginning of the game, 1-20, plays as a tutorial to the bigger picture of Destiny and I am perfectly fine with that.

Even the Crucible has been a ton of fun. I was fairly competitive in Modern Warfare 2, and I have not found a game that made me want to compete again. Until now, Destiny makes me want to compete and gain my skills higher. So, that is exactly what I am going to do. Now the hard part is finding a group of people to play with that are reliable and fun to play with.

Anyways, I have more stuff to kill and loot to gain!

That is 2 very exciting games. Also Bloodborne got a release date of February 5th. This is fantastic news. Battlefield Hardline (BETA RIGHT NOW)

I don't know how I feel about this game. I feel like there is way too much destruction to for a heist. From the trailer the heist was for 20k$... seems like WAY too much trouble to go through for that much money. It just doesn't seem realistic what so ever, especially with the crane dropping and all that jazz.

But I'll be honest, the game does look awesome. And you know what, you can sign up RIGHT NOW for the BETA! All you need to do is sign-up for the hardline beta from www.battlefield.com Also if you have Battlefield 4, only on the PS4, you can go ahead and download the PS4 from the menu screen after highlighting the Battlefield 4 game area!

NOTE THE BETA IS FOR PC AND PS4 ONLY!

New Mass Effect

Well that is great news, it seems like there is a new Mass Effect game coming out Bioware. Announced, or rather teased, during the EA Press Conference at E3. Teased to be a huge universe where you can travel to a substantial amount of planets.

I'm going to be honest, I haven't played the original trilogy, which is a shame, but I am quite excited for this announcement. This will definitely be an intense game!

No platforms were announced, but we can only assume it will come out to Next-gen consoles and PC.

Loadout PS4

So big news today, a huge PC game Loadout, has been announced as a console exclusive for the Playstation 4. Why is this big news? Because, this game is wickedly fun and competitive. Think, Team Fortress 2, with 10x more gore and weapon customization.

In fact, the big draw to the game is the "Billions of combinations" you can make for your weapon. I have played it on the PC, and I have spent a good 2 hours on just creating my weapons. Creating laser beams, rocket launchers, and assault rifles...the choice is yours.

Also, according to the developers, it is not going to be a straight port either. They are going to rework the balance of the game to make it feel at home on the Dualshock 4. This is great news, shows that they are going to put some time and effort into bringing their game to the Playstation 4.

Anways, I am quite excited for this pre-E3 announcement. My personal views on it are that I can't wait for it to come out so I can wreck some people with the Hammer, which is their form of capture the flag. I am skeptical on playing the game with the controller because I tried on the PC and I felt severely hindered. But, if they re-balance the game that will be perfect.

The trailer is just below.

Google buys Twitch: Thoughts

So, what is the big news this week? Well, it might just be that Google (YouTube) is trying to purchase Twitch.tv for $1 Billion. Now, because of this there are numerous people in a panic on how Google is going to ruin Twitch. How Google is going to force people to use Google+ on Twitch. Here are my opinions on the matter.

First off, Google will most definitely not force users to use Google+ on Twitch. I say this as they have already begun abandoning the total integration of Google+. It has been a commercial failure, especially with the integration of YouTube and G+. For goodness sake, the father of G+ actually left Google, probably to run away from the scrutiny he was receiving internally about the failures. So, I do not see this integration of G+ and Twitch happening.

What I do see happening is Google will allow Twitch to govern and run itself independently, but with the addition of the financial support of Google. This will only allow Twitch to grow as a service and hopefully be more reliable. That would definitely be the best case scenario for all of this.

I do think that people freaking out about it is uncalled for. Monetization and copyright will probably end up acting the same way that it is currently. At least, that is what I am hoping for. I mean what do I know? I barely have any twitch followers as much as I want to have more, I think it is hard to get into now that it is over saturated.

Bound By Flame: Initial Impressions

Now, I am going to be honest with you, I was a little skeptical going to get Bound By Flame. A lot of the critics have been tearing the game apart. But, I have been looking forward to an action/adventure/rpg type of game for a while for the PS4. That is why I went ahead and purchased the game.

At $49, I was not expecting a AAA title, but I am looking for an entertaining title. And in my first hours with the game that is exactly what I have gotten. To be frank, the game is actually quite hard. I have died countless times, I don't know if it is because the game is inherently hard or because I am not used to the combat system.

Speaking of the combat system, I have not gotten used to it completely. I am still looking for a way to dodge while using the a sword... But alas, there is none and   you are forced to block or parry. For this reason, I have been using the daggers a lot more than the sword. To explain, you have 2 stances; warrior and ranger. With the warrior stance you use a sword and to mitigate the damage you block or you can time it perfectly and parry an attack and counter it. While in ranger stance  you use your dual daggers and to mitigate the damage you dodge backwards; timing it perfectly will let you riposte and counter the attack. You also have a ranged weapon (my crossbow for now) as well as magic spells. The magic spell  you gain from the demon inside of you.

That is the, let's say, the selling point of the game. You are a mercenary, Vulcan, who in certain circumstances has been 'possessed' by a flame demon. Throughout the game, you are given choices in which you can embrace the demon or not. When you embrace the demon, Ala Fable, your character transforms; to a point where he actually can't wear helmets anymore because of the horns. This concept is what really intrigued me about Bound By Flame. Not to spoil anything, I spent a good 5 minutes thinking what to do when the  first decision decided to present itself to me.

Now, I know gamers think this is all important (which it's not), but the graphics are pretty good. No where near groundbreaking, but they are good. I do notice a slowdown time to time, mostly right before I go into a new area but it is not enough to hinder the entertainment value. It definitely is a pretty game to look at, I will not take that away.

I was not looking for an open-world game, in fact, I kind of hate how everyone expects that now of late. So, I don't mind, but rather like, the linearality of the game, with its defined paths, corridors, and areas. Of course there are side quests to accomplish to give you a break from the story. I can easily see myself sinking 20+ hours into the title, and for that at $49 that is a steal.

Having sunk, only a couple hours into Bound By Flame, I am excited to continue the story of Vulcan and the flame demon. There is much that I haven't really spent time with such as the crafting system and building relationships. But, as of right now, I definitely recommend this game, just don't expect a perfect AAA experience.

Call of Duty - Road to Not Sucking #3 - WHY HOST WHY?!?!

Played the new Call of Duty: Ghosts map Blitz. Blitz is reminence of Capture the Flag, but reverse. A team fights to capture a point in teh opposing teams base, to capture the point you have to run through the designated area...see how it is reverse capture the flag. It is the new Call of Duty: Ghosts CTF. It is quite fun, but I experienced terrible spawn camping which made me not want to play it anymore.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

So it seems like the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare trailer was leaked a little early than the May 4th Reveal. With that, Activision acknowledged that and have 'officially' released the Reveal trailer.

Now, as you see through the trailer it is going to be a futuristic shooter. So that is going to be a little interesting, especially with the introduction of the exoskeletons and the super jumps. How will this transition into the online? I am very anxious to find out.

See, I am one of the few that actually likes Ghosts. I don't see why everyone hates on that game, it works and it is really fun online. I like all the customizations and how deep I can get into the multi-player settings.

Since this is going to be Sledgehammers first Call of Duty game I have high hopes that they are going to revolutionize the multiplayer scene since they, hopefully, are not going to follow any recipes.

So here is to another good Call of Duty!

Final Fantasy XIV: ARR #1 - Ultima Weapon (Normal)

My Excitement is Growing: Bound By Flame

I am getting extremely excited for the upcoming game, Bound By Flame. This game looks absolutely gorgeous and fantastic. It promises a fun and challenging combat that requires some tactical thought. The game kind of reminds me of a mix between, Fable and Dark Souls. I hope it delivers on this expectation.

I think this type of title is exactly what the next gen Playstation 4 console needs. It is unfortunate that the Xbox 1 will not be receiving this title though. The game is coming to the PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and the PC.  But I will be picking this up for the PS4 definitely.

The game is released on May 9, so that is just about 2 weeks from now! Well I just wanted to alert you guys on this amazing upcoming game. Go check out the title and tell what you think about it in the comments below.

Tutorial - Ending Video Thumbnail (Beginner)

This is a quick tutorial on how to do the ending video thumbnail. Basically, that is the video that plays at the end of certain videos that gives the "credits" a nice flair. It also acts as advertisement to other videos on your library. There are plenty of ways to go about this, this is the simplest of ways as this is meant for beginners. I know it is simple, I was aiming at people just starting out and wondering how to do it.

Sorry for my hiatus

Hello everyone,

Sorry for my hiatus on blog and life updates. I truly am sorry and will be working harder to update this blog with gaming news, tech news, and just all around life updates. I think it is very important to write these things down, and such I will.

First off, I do want to say Happy Easter to everyone. I hope everyone had a wonderful easter and  was able to relax and enjoy the company of their family. Personally, I was able to relax and spend time with my loved ones which made it a great Easter. As well as, eat some really good honey baked ham, which makes any day a spectacular day.

Gaming news wise, I beat Infamous, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, and I am currently working on Theif. But, Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn has been taking a lot of my time recently. Other good news, the PS4 will soon have an update that will allow shared videos to be moved to a USB hard drive, so wafter that update i will be able to do a lot more videos stemming from my PS4 and that alone makes me extremely happy in the end.

Tech news wise, I got the Galaxy S5 which you can see a review of the phone and an awesome case on my YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/xsinisterdragonx)...so check that out.

Other than that, I think I will leave at that...just note that I will be updating this blog on my consistent basis with my life news and just all round news in the world. New video uploads will be announced here as well.

Take care!

Tough getting Partnered on YouTube

Man, for the past week or so I have been going back and forth with a company trying to get my YouTube channel partnered. Sadly the videos that I am removing was the bulk of my views, which stinks since partners base their interest in you by the amount of views that  you have. So that was quite disappointing. I am hoping that they see the quality of my content and make an exception and help me grow my channel because that would be awesome.

That has been my week so far. I hope everyone is enjoying their days. I am going to be updating this blog more regularly with Tech news and such, as well as more personal things because sometimes you need to just write some things down and get them off your chest.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition - The Bow

I'm going to be honest, I have been playing the multiplayer component of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition more than the single player. Great times are to be had while playing the exhilarating multiplayer! There is a sense of satisfaction when you capture an enemy with a trap to get the final kill. But, there is better feeling, getting a kill with the Bow.

I didn't always use the bow online, and when I, didn't I was not having a lot of fun. But, I plunged into the bow face first and have not turned back. Pulling the bow string and leading an enemy... To release it just as he is about to kill a teammate. Something about that is amazing!

While using the assault rifles I had poor accuracy and to me, it was a gamble on who would win in a fire fight. Whilst, using the bow I know most of the time that I am going to hit the person or not. Sometimes, unfortunately I'll hit them, they'll kill me and then they'll drop dead from the arrow. Now that is definitely frustrating and it has happened way more than once.

Anyways, here is a Bow montage video that I quickly spun together to showcase some of the first games that I played with the bow.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition - Multiplayer 1

I am really enjoying the Multiplayer in Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. This round was before I actually discovered the beauty of the Bow. I have been playing non-stop for a while now and I really love the Bow. Definitely my play style, I use the bow as more of a support tool staying back and helping my teammates. Though, I have a montage of my bow coming up, I do sometimes go in and fight them head on with the bow. Anyways heres a first look at the Multiplayer in Tomb Raider

Please don't forget to like or subscribe.

Opinion: EA and Microsoft paying Youtuber

Here is my whole opinion on what is going on with the whole EA and Microsoft paying Youtubers to say good things about them. First off, you can not blame the Youtubers, this is their job and they need money, yes they ahve the decision to either comply with them or not. I'm pretty sure most of them believe what they are saying also, of course they are the few that will do it just for the money.

You know what, who cares? If a video is coming off like an advertisment...then it probably is. Take what you see on Youtube with a grain a salt, do more research than watching one persons video. This is being blown way out of proportion to begin with. It is common practice and people need to get over it, thinking of it as infomercials....or product placements within movies.

With that, I can see how people may be upset with the situation. They are thinking their favorite Youtuber is being pressured to report on something they might like. Which is a reasonable reason to be upset, but one has to see that this is their job. Watch more footage of gameplay and form your own opinions. That is what is important, that you form your OWN opinion about stuff and not play/buy something just because your favorite Youtuber said he liked it.

What really is pissing me off is King trying to trademark "candy" and going after smaller companies with "saga" and "candy" in it. Their excuse for going after The Banner Saga is completely ludacris. I'm hoping some companies form an appeal for the trademark to put King into their place. They are basically bullies right now.

What are your thoughts/opinions on this?
Have you been in a situation where you recieved money for saying good things about a company?

First Play: Trine 2 - Complete Story

Yesterday I purchased Trine 2 - Complete Story for the PS4. I was looking for a fun, engaging, and challenging co-op game. These are hard to come by, especially for the Playstation 4. It was between Trine 2 and Tiny Brains; I will inevitably purchase both in the end, but I went ahead and got Trine 2 first.

Finding a game that my girlfriend will enjoy was the priority for the purchase, and I must say it was worth it. We have only spent about 2 hours with the game, but we are thoroughly enjoying the game. My girlfriend, Kim, loves to play as the Thief, Zoya. Using the grappling hook is her favorite mechanic so far, even if she does complain that the game is a little too hard. See, she is relatively new to gaming, only playing Mario games before; so finding a game she can enjoy is quite difficult.

Personally, my first impression of the game is that it is stunning. I can not wait to venture forth into the different environments as what I have seen far is breathtaking. The environments feel very organic and alive and I constantly catch myself just staring into the backgrounds as Kim fights hordes of monsters.

The puzzle elements of the game constantly keep us thinking about how to get to new heights and acquire more XP. Fighting is fun and equally hilarious finding new ways to vanquish the enemies with different combinations from the heroes. Kim and I have vowed that we will platinum the game and earn all the trophies, that is how much we are enjoying the game. On top of beautiful environments, top-notch puzzles, the story pretty engaging as well. We haven't learned the reason why the Trine reached out to us, but we are itching to play more to find out the reason.

A proper review will come in the future, when we get further into the game. But as of right now, I would totally recommend it to everyone. Especially, for those who want a fun local co-op game to enjoy with friends and significant others.

Looking Foward - January '14

What am I looking forward to this month? There is one major release that I am definitely going to pick up, and that is Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. With the Definitive Edition, I will be able to experience the game as the developers intended it to be experienced, as I have just beaten it on the PS3. With the improved visuals and clarity, I expect for a better more thrilling adventure. Though, I am saddened that no new content will be added, but that is alright as I enjoyed the game so much I am willing to pay for it again.

Steam DevDays is happening this month, so I am looking forward to what news comes out of that. News already broke that the steam controller is ditching the touchscreen in favor for 6 physical buttons. That is a welcomed change, I did not like the touchscreen idea one bit.

Bioshock InfiniteDmC, and Don't Starve hit the PS+ Instant Collection this month. Will pick, up DmC and Don't Starve, as I already have Bioshock Infinite on the PC. In fact, those two games were already released in the first week of the month. I have been spending some time with Don't Starve, it is a grueling game that I find quite rewarding. Definitely worth playing the game, but of course not too long because  you WILL get frustrated....and die a lot.

Well, that is pretty much all that I am really looking forward to this month. Not many game releases that I am excited for, unlike next month!

MUST PLAY GAME OF THE MONTH:
